Construction Manager Assistant

SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Construction Manager Assistant supports the Construction Manager in coordinating, organizing, and overseeing construction projects. While the Construction Manager focuses on strategic decision-making, overall project execution, and client relationships, the Construction Manager Assistant ensures the seamless flow of day-to-day operations and administrative support, making it possible for the team to deliver projects on time and within budget.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist Construction Manager with in preparing, distributing, and managing project documentation, including schedules, permits, and vendor contracts.
- Learn proper management of the job site safety, quality, and schedule for assigned projects from pre-construction to closeout.
- Acquire the skills to successfully set up job site logistics, field coordination, and project schedule.
- Gain the skills from the CM on how to establish and maintain positive and effective relationships and communication with client, Construction Manager, project team, consultants, subcontractors, etc.
- Learn to ensure adequate materials are delivered and available for installation in proper sequence (checks counts and quality of products delivered)
- Assist in scheduling and managing subcontractors to complete punch lists and small outstanding incomplete jobs
- Attend company and industry events including meetings, training, workshops, etc.
- Act as a communication bridge between the Construction Manager, subcontractors, vendors, and homeowners, ensuring prompt responses and issue resolution.
- Perform preliminary inspections to identify issues or areas needing improvement before the Construction Manager's review.
- Support the review of invoices and budgets by providing detailed updates to the Construction Manager.
- Use project management and scheduling software effectively.

- Escalate complex challenges or homeowner concerns to the Construction Manager for resolution.
- Assist in documenting final walkthroughs and ensure completion of any punch-list items.
- Other related duties as assigned or needed
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE
- High school degree or equivalent required
- Experience in homebuilding or related real estate industry, or applicable construction management training preferred
- Valid Driver's License
- Exceptional communication skills -- both written and verbal
- Comfortable presenting ideas and solutions to leadership and key business partners
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills and time management skills
- Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships
- Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The Assistant Superintendent is regularly required to:
* Walk, climb stairs, sit, and stand.
* Talk and hear at normal levels.
* See with close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and have the ability to adjust focus.
* Reach with hands and arms.
* Use hands and fingers to operate tools and other business machines.
* Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
